Its a Wrap!!

What's up everyone?!?! Today is a bit bitter sweet, but this will be our last Blogger post for CBE. The journey has had it's ups and downs and as your CBE founder, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on this crazy journey and what it has been all about.

As stated in our disclaimer, CBE is a fictitious business that was created for the purpose of use throughout a Digital Marketing course. Our Blogger page served as a platform for CBE to engage in a more informative thorough manner in our Digital Marketing Campaigns course. Each week we we're tasked to author a blog post that aligned with our monthly social media content calendar. Each week a new topic was highlighted. We talked about new cars, charities, how to get your vehicle ready for specific driving conditions, and pretty much anything else related to the automotive and exotic car industry. Each post was tailored to be specific to the theme that was designated for that specific week. Sometimes it was easy and sometimes it was a battle. We're just happy its over.

Blogging is....how do I put it? Not my thing! However, I do see the value in this type of social media interaction. Depending on your industry and business, a blog can be a huge weapon in your marketing arsenal. You have the ability to cross promote, but at the same time have a platform that allows you to add more detailed informative information compared to other platforms. You have the ability to embed media in your blog posts, which in turn can create a more enjoyable engaging interaction with your followers, or those who just stumble upon your page. You definitely need to continue to be active on your blog and be creative with your posts and how you can get them out there to be viewed by more people. Remembering to cross promote your business pages is going to be a huge factor in how successful your blog and other pages will be.

All in all this was a journey where we laughed, we got upset and frustrated, and even shed some tears, but at the end of it all I am happy I pushed through. Without the support of my peers, instructors, and all my random supporters (You Awesome Folks) who actually engaged, I don't think I would have made it through this. So to all of you, I want to say, thank you. Thank you for reading, thank you for following and engaging, but most importantly, thank you for believing and continuing to be a part of this.

Thank You,

C.B.

Beard Gang

It's that time of year again, no were not talking about sitting up in a tree freezing your butt off, we're talking about Movember, and No-Shave November. This beautiful time of year is when men from all walks  of life partake on a 30 day journey to grow out their facial hair in support of the Movember foundation and to bring awareness about prostate and testicular cancer.

Movember began in Australia in 2003 to raise awareness for prostate and testicular cancers,  as a nonprofit, the Movember Foundation raised nearly $21 million in 2013. Talk about some serious cha-ching for a great cause.

No-Shave November is a different organization that encourages people to donate what they would normally spend on hair grooming supplies during the month to the American Cancer Society.Instead of being "all about the mustache " this group is a little more anything goes. Participants can grow mustaches and beards, but it also encourages women to maybe skip shaving their legs. Yes, the ladies are encouraged to participate as well.
So if you've ever wondered what you might look like with some facial hair and have never grown it out, this is an awesome excuse to do it. Just think of the crazy styles of beards and mustaches you might be seeing by the end of the month. Maybe well have to do a beast beard and mustache competition.. Guess you'll have to stay tuned to see what might happen..

Toys For Tots

What up CBE fam?! We wanted to take some time to highlight an awesome organization run by the United States Marine Corps. We recently participated in a Toys for Tots event with other exotic car owners and enthusiasts and had an awesome time giving back for such an amazing cause.
Toys for Tots was started  back in 1947 when the wife of Major Bill Hendricks, from Los Angeles, California, attempted to donate a Raggedy Anne doll for a child in need but could not find an organization that had such a program. That year, Major Bill’s wife Diane pressured him to gather a group of local Marine reservists to help coordinate and deliver 5,000 toys to local children. Now that's a seriously wicked awesome act of kindness.
Due to being such a success during its first year, the organization went national in 1948. In his civilian life, Major Bill was the public relations director at Warner Brothers Studio, which was how he was able to convinced a large number of celebrities to show their support for the cause. Fun fact; During the first year in 1948, Walt Disney designed the logo that Toys for Tots still uses to this day.
Since its first early years, Toys for Tots has been authorized as a non-profit charity foundation and has also become an official mission of the Marine Corps Reserve. As of 2016, Toys for Tots has collected and distributed over 512 million toys to needy children throughout the country.

So next time you see a chance to participate in a Toys for Tots event, we highly recommend it. Think of the smiles you can bring to all those children and families who are less fortunate.

Ready for Winter??

Winter driving conditions suck!!  Icy surfaces can make it harder for your vehicle to grip road surfaces. Snow and slushy ice also destroy traction, and if you are unfortunate enough to find yourself trapped or stranded, you will definitely want/need to have the right tools and gear with you.
The following are the basic areas you will need to focus on when winterizing your exotic car.
Got Juice?
Battery failure is more likely to happen during cold weather months. Your car battery loses power naturally as the temperature drops, so if you're rocking an old battery, it may fail to start when the cold weather sets in. Always make sure your car battery is tested before the cold season sets in, especially your vehicle is older than four years. If you have the slightest bit of concern, you may want to consider replacing your battery.
Winter Tread
When the roads become covered in ice or snow, traction can become a major issue, and if your tires are not suited for the surface, you may find that you cannot control your vehicle. Seriously not a good thing.  Winter tires have a different tread to tackle snow and ice and are designed to remain fully elastic in the coldest of temperatures. Winter tires will normally last three winter seasons and could save you the cost of damaged bodywork or, worse, injuries to your passengers. Winter tires will have a mountain-peak-and-snowflake symbol on the side wall of the tire, which indicates that they are suitable for winter. Know your rubber!!!
Wipers and fluids.
Good visibility in hazardous conditions is essential to your safety. Normal windshield wiper blades are very susceptible to the cold. Frozen blades can lift away from the windshield and may not be effective in removing snow. Winter blades remain flexible in the cold and have a rubber covering that allows the blade to remain close to the windshield surface. It is also important to ensure that your washer fluid reservoir is topped off regularly. Use an appropriate solution with anti-freeze and keep a large bottle of spare fluid in your car at all times.
Show me the light!!
In severe weather, it is extremely important to have headlights that can be seen by other vehicles and that light up the road for you as much as possible. Make sure you align your headlights according to the manufacturer’s instruction, you can do this by adjusting a single knob or screw within the headlight housing. Headlight covers can also become hazy, due to oxidation of the plastic content that greatly reduces visibility. Headlight restoration kits are a great way to restore your headlights to a new car finish, but we recommend allowing your dealership or a trained professional to do this process.
The Goods.
No matter how well-maintained your exotic vehicle is - if the weather gets bad enough, you may find yourself stranded. You should always carry spare blankets to keep you and your passengers warm in the event that there is no gas or power to heat your car. Gloves and boots will allow you to go out into the snow if necessary. Pack a flashlight and spare batteries in case you need to move away from the car at night. A shovel or scraper brush could be essential to remove snow or ice from around the wheels. Bottled water and non-perishable snacks might be necessary in the event that you are stuck for some time.

So basically.....make sure you are prepped and ready for what winter might throw at you.
